Rays of Dissonance

Absolute Dissonance requires an absolute bridge to gap the divide. However in reality only on of the above exists.

In the realm of cognition, the bridge is known as rationalization. Rationalization is an amalgamation of justifications, lies and blaming. Also involved are paradigm shifts in attitudes, beliefs and actions that meld the whole together.

The mind's only failing is in not knowing that infinity cannot be achieved. Thus it will make every attempt to reduce dissonance. Going to no end to bridge the chasm.
At first such an attempt is well constructed, well defined.
However as the supplies run dry, the mind will will grasp at any method and material in order to continue this unattainable construct.
The structure soon burdens itself. Instead of resources directed at gap bridging, what scarce resources remain suddenly become devoted to maintaining structural integrity.

Failure arises when either A, there structure finally collaspes when it can no longer maintain structural intregity or it reaches critical mass and collaspes into a gravitional singularity.
B, the mind exhausts its last available resource in futile attempts at bridging impossible gaps.

The result remains the same, the dissonance remains. Finally a concious shift takes place, embracing the dissonance for what it really is. Or a complete change in beliefs or attitudes, removing the dissonance.

Unless it doesnt. Unless it does.
